Lid Lesion Removal

Many different types of benign eyelid lesions exist which include seborrheic keratoses, papillomas, verrucas, nevi (moles), and skin tags.  These commonly occur in people of all ages.  Many eye lid lesions can be diagnosed by clinical evaluation.  However, an excisional biopsy may be recommended for more accurate diagnosis and treatment.  This procedure in usually done in the office under local anesthesia.  Small lesions are usually removed entirely.  For large lesions, only a small section may be removed for dignostic purposes.  Further treatment options may be dependant on the results of the histopathology report.
