LASIK Technology
We have invested in the very latest blade-free, highly customized LASIK technologies to perform this procedure with exquisite precision:
- iDESIGN Refractive Studio to measure the tiny hills and valleys of your unique eyes
- IntraLase femtosecond laser (iLASIK) for creation of the corneal flap
- VISX STAR S4 IR excimer laser for corneal reshaping
iDESIGN Refractive Studio
This is the first and only topography-integrated, wavefront-guided LASIK technology available. This is important because it offers extreme customization of your LASIK procedure so you can achieve the very best vision results possible. We measure your eyes inside and out using:
- Wavefront analysis to measure the optical pathway inside your eye
- Corneal topography to measure the surface of your eye
The high-definition, 3D scan that is generated of your eye is 25 times more precise than traditional methods of measuring. In just 3 seconds, the system captures over 1,200 data points that are used to guide the excimer laser during your treatment:
- Cornea shape and curvature
- Pupil diameter
- Light movement through the eye

What Makes Our LASIK Blade-Free?
IntraLase Femtosecond Laser
The IntraLase method (iLASIK) is a 100% blade-free approach to creating your LASIK flap — the thin flap of tissue that the doctor creates to perform your LASIK procedure. With the IntraLase method, tiny pulses of laser light, a quadrillionth of a second each, pass harmlessly through the outer portion of your cornea and form a uniform layer of microscopic bubbles just beneath the surface of your eye. The IntraLase flap creation process takes about 15 to 20 seconds per eye. Your doctor then easily lifts the flap to apply the LASIK treatment.
iLASIK is today’s most innovative laser vision correction procedure and has been used to treat more eyes than any other laser vision treatment available today. The iLASIK procedure combines two advanced lasers with a 3-D mapping process in one integrated, blade-free procedure that allows more patients than ever to achieve 20/20 vision or better.
VISX STAR S4 IR Excimer Laser
This is the technology used for the actual corneal reshaping. The 3-D map that was generated by iDESIGN is programmed into the excimer laser to treat the exact refractive error in your unique eyes. This automated process is controlled by your doctor who can view summary metrics, topographic views and maps throughout the entire streamlined process. The cool laser beam reshapes your cornea to create a new curvature and correct your vision.
Results
Our combination of technologies can eliminate both high and low order aberrations, reducing the risk of halos, glare and poor night vision after surgery. Clinical trial results are impressive:
