Clear Vision in Bright & Dim Lighting
Introducing
Vivity IOL
Cataracts cause your vision to become cloudy, yellowed and dull-colored. Luckily, cataract surgery can restore clarity to your vision. Today, you have more treatment options than ever before. The doctors at Rosenbaum Eye and Laser Center are excited to offer a revolutionary FDA-approved replacement lens option: the Alcon AcrySof® IQ Vivity® Extended Vision Lens. This lens has been used by ophthalmologists worldwide with excellent results and high patient satisfaction.
The Vivity Extended Vision Lens is the first presbyopia-correcting intraocular lens (IOL) with X-WAVE™ technology that provides high-quality eyesight for distance and intermediate vision as well as functional up-close vision. X-WAVE is a proprietary, non-diffractive technology that uses all available light entering the eyes to create a continuous, extended range of vision.
Benefits of Vivity
- Sharper vision in both bright and dim lighting
- Distance and intermediate vision improvement
- Protection from harmful UV rays and blue light
- Reduced chance of halos, starbursts and glare
- Improved night vision for driving
- Toric version of the Vivity lens can also correct astigmatism
Some patients may still need to wear reading glasses for certain up-close activities such as reading fine print
Considerations for Vivity
Not every cataract patient will be a good candidate for the Vivity Extended Vision Lens. For example, if you have an issue such as dry eye syndrome, this type of replacement lens may not provide the best vision results. Our doctors can evaluate your eye health and determine if the Vivity Extended Vision Lens will be suitable for you.
You should also be aware that Medicare and most other insurances will not cover cataract surgery with advanced replacement lenses. To achieve your very best vision with the Vivity Extended Vision Lens, you will incur an out-of-pocket expense. However, the visual freedom is often worth the cost for many active lifestyle patients.
We invite you to schedule a cataract evaluation at Rosenbaum Eye & Laser Center so we can assess your vision, determine if the time is right for surgery and explain all of your lens replacement options. We will only recommend the Vivity Extended Vision Lens if we truly feel it will benefit your vision and your quality of life.
